What is gua sha?

Gua sha is a traditional Chinese technique that helps clear the meridians and ease neck and shoulder discomfort.

At Xin Hong Neng, we use a heated red bian stone (砭石) tool. Its massage base, the core of the tool, is made from Sibin bian stone (泗滨砭石), which gives off far-infrared rays and ultrasonic pulses that are beneficial to the body. Used at a constant warm temperature, the trace-element “nourishment” in the stone quickly reaches the body, helping to clear the meridians, promote microcirculation and regulate metabolism.

During the session, the therapist applies pressure across selected areas of the body, usually the back, neck and shoulders.

What makes bian stone special

We choose Sibin bian stone formed about 65 million years ago. It contains more than 20 beneficial trace elements, and when heated it releases ultrasonic pulses and far-infrared rays that help bring energy back to the body.
